Azaadi Flood March

Under the banner of ‘Students of SZABIST Unite’ we organized an Azadi flood March on 14th August 2010 for their cause. We marched from 90 Clifton to the ‘do-talwar’ round-about in Karachi, all decked in green, painted faces and displaying hand-made hoardings chanting our love for the country. At the roundabout we formed a human chain around the round-about and sang the national anthem in unison. Passers-by and onlookers were so moved by the efforts of students who conducted such an activity early in the morning of the Independence Day that they started donating cash in the student’s donation boxes. The students collected a phenomenal sum of money within just two hours of portraying a united front to the city. Two more walks were organized in a similar fashion where we were joined by students and organizations all over Karachi.
